day ???
Well, like most things this has turned out to be a failed experiment. Apparently it is a huge pain in the ass to try and sit down and type all of the crap you did every day. I will probably update here periodically. I am starting to get back into the gym and reading to run and cycle. My current mindset is focused and my diet has been cleaned up. I hope this can be made into a permanent change and that I don't get overwhelmed, lost, or distracted during this process. I am really trying to focus each day on being as healthy as possible. ciao

Day 11
Last day off and a pretty unproductive week as far as exercise goes, especially for someone who is claiming to be intent on getting in shape. So, I got on the treadmill today and ran just over 2 miles in about 20 minutes. It felt pretty good with minimal pain, which means I didn't go hard enough, and also got in some pushups, 40 or so. Read Dean Karnazes book last night, a great read and a wonderful story about the persistance of the human spirit and the ability to go beyond what seems humanly possible. A good reality check, it makes me realize I need to go a lot, lot harder and try and break down every wall that is placed in front of me. The harder it hurts, the harder I need to push, breaking through these walls is the only way to grow physically and mentally. I hope I have what it takes and shall find out soon.
day 10
No workout, headed out on a road trip to Decatur. Wow, what a dirty, racist, crime-ridden, desolate town. The lincoln lounge was spectacular as always and a good time was had by all. Coming back to St. Louis I starting to actually feel I lived in a progressive forward thinking town, that euphoria was of course short lived as the first restaurant/bar I walked in had people huffing down cigs at a furious pace. Ohhh, yeah, I forgot, I still live Missouri.

Day 8
Hit the slopes today at Hidden Valley. Tried to snowboard for the first hour or so, it is not as easy as I thought it would be. Then switched up to the ski's and hit all the runs. Not skiing very well either although picking it back up much faster than boarding. On the second to last run I bombed down a steep descent and managed to loose it at about 35mph smashing my hip, shoulder, and head into the ground. Good exercise but now have a bum hip. We will see how long this takes to heal.
